Hangry Girlfriend/Legal

Privacy Policy

Effective 2 October 2026 · Alysh Studio, Vancouver, BC

The short version
You can play Hangry Girlfriend (on the web and on Android) as a guest, and then nothing about you leaves your device. If you sign in so your progress follows you to other devices, we store your email address, your player name, your language, your game progress and basic device information. We use it only to run the game. No ads, no tracking, and we never sell or share your data for marketing. You can delete your account and all of its data any time.
Who we are
Hangry Girlfriend is made by Alysh Studio, an independent developer in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Alysh Studio is responsible for your personal information. Contact: tongvfx@gmail.com.
Playing as a guest
Signing in is optional. As a guest, your progress and settings are saved only on your device, and we receive nothing about you.
Signing in
Email: you type your email address and we send you a one-time code. We store your email address.

Google: Google shares your email address and basic profile (name and profile picture) with us. We keep your email address and use your first name only to suggest a player name. We do not get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
What we collect when you sign in
Account details: email address, an account ID created when you sign in, and how you signed in (email or Google).

Profile: the player name you choose and the game language you pick.

Game progress: your current and best day, Love, chapter checkpoints, game mode, items, unlocked scenarios, memories album, story beats you've seen, and when your progress last changed.

Device information: each time your progress is saved, we record your device type (phone, tablet or computer), operating system, browser or app version (the "user agent"), your device's language setting, your country if our database provider passes it on, and the time. We do not store your IP address.

That's all. We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, payment information, or advertising ID. The game has no ads and no analytics or tracking tools.
How we use it
Only to run the game: to sign you in, save your progress and load it on any device, show your player name and language in the game, understand which devices and languages to support, and reply if you contact us. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your data. We only use these services to run the game:

Supabase stores your account and game progress, and sends sign-in code emails. Supabase handles this data only for us.

Google handles sign-in when you choose "Continue with Google", and Google Fonts supplies the game's lettering (see below).

Netlify hosts the website and web version of the game.

We may also share information if the law requires it.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored on Supabase servers, which may be outside Canada (for example, in the United States). There, the local law applies to it. We protect your data with encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and database rules that let each account read and change only its own progress.
Data on your device
The game also saves your progress on your device so you can play offline, then syncs when you're back online. Sound, music and vibration settings stay on your device only. To clear this data, clear your browser's site data or uninstall the app.
Deleting your account
In the game: go to Settings, tap "privacy & account" at the bottom, then "delete my account", and confirm twice. This deletes your account, email, player name, device information and all saved progress straight away.

Without the game: email tongvfx@gmail.com from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We'll delete it within 30 days and let you know when it's done.

When an account is deleted, all of its data is permanently removed, including from backups, within 30 days. We don't keep any of it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and progress for as long as your account exists. If an account isn't used for 3 years, we may delete it. Before that, we'll send a notice to the account's email.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you your data, give you a copy, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can change your player name in the game. For anything else, email us and we'll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example under Canada's PIPEDA, BC's PIPA, the EU/UK GDPR, or California's CCPA) you may have further rights, including complaining to your local privacy regulator.
Server logs
Our hosting and database providers automatically record standard technical information (IP address, device or browser type, time of request) for security and to keep the service running. We don't use these logs to build a profile of you, and they are kept only briefly.
Google Fonts
The website and the game (including the Android app) load their fonts from Google Fonts, which sends Google your IP address. Google's privacy policy covers that request.
Children
Hangry Girlfriend is not made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change how the game handles data, we'll update this page and its effective date. If a change is significant (for example, adding ads or new data we collect), we'll tell you in the game before it takes effect.
